About me
Adam is currently is in his 4th term in the UNC MADS program, expecting to complete the capstone, and the program, in August 2025. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies in 2011. Upon graduating, he commissioned into the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant and spent approximately six years on active duty leading Soldiers and completing numerous assignments across the U.S. Seeking to pursue new challenges, he transitioned into the private sector into sales and management roles across a diverse group of industries. In 2023, he decided to pursue his passion of becoming a software developer and completed a 19-week software engineering bootcamp where he learned to build full-stack applications. Currently, he is a Front-End Developer for a logistics and manufacturing company based in Kansas City, MO, where he has spent the last year and half developing and maintaining the company’s website and supporting other applications. Adam is passionate about, and excited for, the rapidly evolving AI landscape and aims to transition to more AI-focused software engineer and machine learning engineer roles as he finishes his time in the MADS program. He currently resides about 20 minutes west of Chapel Hill in Saxapahaw, NC with his wife, Rachel, and their five-month-old daughter, Audrey.
